Biography

Dr. Eugen RUSU received his Post-doctoral specializations at the Hydrographical Institute of the Portuguese Navy, Lisbon, Portugal. In this period, responsible with the wave modelling and operational forecast in some major situations that are related to the environmental evaluations in the coastal zones as: the accident of M/V Prestige (2002) and the NATO exercises: ‘Unified Odyssey’ (2002) and ‘Swordfish’ (2003). Currently, he is a President of the Romanian National Commission of Mechanical Engineering, Vice-rector, University ‘Dunarea de jos of Galaṭi’, Romania and he is Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering, UDJG. His research interests are in the area of Modelling and analysis of the environmental data in marine environment, correlated with the assessment of the natural and technological risks that may occur in these zones. Metocean data analysis and evaluation of the reliability of different data sources. Another direction is related to the renewable energy extraction in marine environment, efficiency assessments performed for various converters and in different environments, studies of the possible coastal impact of the future marine energy parks.
